Walking and Proper Footcare
The average person takes 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day, which adds up to about 115,000 miles over a lifetime. That's enough to go around the circumference of the earth four times. Walking is also the best exercise for your feet. But it's not only for your feet; walking contributes to your general health by improving circulation, contributing to weight control, and promoting all-around well being. And with 1/4 of all the bones in your body located in your feet and ankles, it becomes very important that your feet receive proper care. Appropriate footwear is the best place to start. If you experience any pain or are having problems with your feet, call your podiatrist. Too many wait before seeing their podiatrist and suffer needlessly.
