Autologous Platelet or APC Injections are a new therapy being offered by our office for the relief of pain caused by Plantar Fasciitis. The injections are a concentration of the patient's own platelets focused on the heel area to speed the body's repair of this area. This treatment is used as an alternative to steroid injections, and follows initial conservative treatments for Plantar Fasciitis. This treatment has also been effectively used for treating other tendon-related problems, like Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow) and Dupuytren’s contracture, which affects the palmar fascia. Plantar Fascitiis is characterized by pain described as stabbing, burning, or aching in the heel of the foot where the fascia attaches to the calcaneus.
If you think you may experiencing Plantar Fascitiis, do not hesitate to contact our office. There is no reason for you to suffer with pain when many treatments are available for this condition. Visit our website at www.vailfoot.com or call our office at 419-423-1888.
